    I purchased a new ECU for my Royal Enfield Classic. For anyone that knows, there isn’t much for power in that bike. After spending a bunch of time looking for fixes I stumbled across the PowerTRONIC ECU.

    My initial impression was that the instructions could have been a bit better (know their customer support is great if you have any questions), but as I started in on the project it came together pretty easily. Though there’s a new wiring harness, the old one remains as the new has both male and female adaptors, which made the process much easier.

    You noticed a difference right away! Everything about the bike ran better. With a single cylinder engine there was a lot of vibration which is reduced, the throttle response is better, easing off the throttle is smoother and of course it performed better. After adding a free flow air filter I think it added about 5 mph to the bike.

    For the price, this is a no-brainer, I encourage everyone with a royal enfield to make the upgrade.

    I’ve read a lot of naysayers say “the bike wasn’t designed for….” to them I say I bike that normally stalls because the air filter is so restrictive it doesn’t get enough air – it doesn’t really matter what it was designed for because it was clearly designed poorly.
